Carey - Mary Ingrid (Paulson), age 84 Years.

Mary was born in Omaha to Carl Eric and Josephine Congdon Paulson. A graduate of Omaha's Brownell Hall in 1943, she attended Vassar College 1943-45 and graduated from Omaha University in 1947. Her honors included Homecoming Queen and Princess of Ak-Sar-Ben. She married William L. Carey, Jr. in 1949. A life-long supporter of education, Mary taught first at Omaha North High School, and then for many years at Brownell-Talbot School where she served as teacher and college counselor. She was also the Headmistress at All Saint¹s School in Sioux Falls, SD from 1968-1970. Mary lived in Richmond, VA from 1986-2003, before returning to Nebraska to live in Lincoln, where she passed away in her son John¹s home surrounded by beloved family. She loved to share literature, fine food, and opera with her dear friends. Mary is survived by her brother, Congdon Eric "Brick" Paulson of Lincoln; 4 children, Charles Carey, Bill Carey, both of Omaha; John Carey of Lincoln; Laura Miller of Fairfax, VA; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services: January 23, 2010 - 11:30 AM at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Omaha, Nebraska.

Visitation: January 22, 2010 - 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the John A. Gentleman 72nd Street Chapel, Omaha, Nebraska.

Interment: Forest Lawn cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska
