David was survived by his wife of 40 years, Arlene Steier, they were married on March 10, 1978; surviving family members include their children, David N. (Carly) Steier, Katlin (Chris) Svendsen, M. John (Rachel) Steier, Lauren (Matt) Miltenberger; grandchildren, Lucas and Neil Svendsen, Charlotte and Benjamin Steier; Parents, Maurice J. and Marian R. Steier and mother in law, Shirley M. Kemp,.
David is also survived by six brothers, one sister and six sisters in law.
