At age 83 she died peacefully in Omaha, Nebraska, surrounded by her five sons singing to her as she passed on to heaven.

Marilyn was a graduate of Kramer High School in Columbus, NE, and earned an RN degree at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, NE.  She attended Duchesne College, Creighton University and Doane College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. After working as a nurse in one of the first polio clinics in Texas, Marilyn returned to Nebraska to become a nurse instructor in Omaha. In her retired years, she re-joined St. Elizabeth’s to work in pastoral care.

Marilyn’s greatest joy and deepest love was her family.  She was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother and great grandmother, whose Catholic faith carried her through life’s many challenges. Marilyn enjoyed fashion, travel and celebrating her sons’ numerous accomplishments.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Anne) Omaha,  James (MaryJo) Bellevue, WA, Mark (Marybeth Easley) Brooklyn, NY, Robert (Megan) Seattle, WA, Paul (Martha) Lincoln, and their father, M. James Bruckner of Whidbey Island, WA; 16  grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Michael and Louise Kaasch, and brother, Michael Kaasch.
