Services: MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL is Wednesday, January 21,2015 at 10am at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, Omaha, NE. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation: with the family begins Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 5:30pm, with a WAKE SERVICE at 6:30pm, all at the Pacific Street Chapel. Memorials suggested to: Nebraska Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Thomas E. Brusnahan, age 90, of Omaha, passed away on Wednesday, January 14. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. and Agnes L. (Real) Brusnahan; siblings, Frances Brusnahan, Virginia Mars, Paul Brusnahan, and Phil Brusnahan; and children Mary, Robert, and Brian. Survivors include wife of 64 years, Phyllis (Teter); sons, Thomas of Liberty, MO, Michael (Sharon) of Marietta GA, and Patrick of Omaha; daughters, Anne Maschman (Hon. Curtis) of Humboldt NE, and Elizabeth Rowland (James) of Berkeley CA; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson. Tom was born on a farm outside Friend, NE in 1924. He graduated from Friend High School in 1941, and began studies at the University of Nebraska. In 1943, his "number came up", and he spent the next 3 years in the US Army, serving in the Northern France Campaign, and earning an honorable discharge while stationed in Vienna, Austria. He returned to Nebraska and, while in school, met a former Navy Wave, Phyllis Teter. They married in 1950 after graduating from University, with Tom working as office manager for Roberts Dairy, first in Sioux City, IA, then in Lincoln, NE. In 1958, Tom began a long career as a salesman with Prudential Insurance Company. During these years Tom was an active member of St Teresa's Catholic Church. Tom moved the family to Omaha in 1965 to continue his insurance career. He and Phyllis joined the new Catholic parish, Mary Our Queen, on the west edge of Omaha. Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Fourth Degree); Serra Club of Omaha; West Omaha Kiwanis Club; Millard Foreign Legion Post; and past president of the Mary Our Queen parish council. Professionally, Tom earned his chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation; was member of the Prudential Million Dollar Round Table; and was recognized as Prudential's 1978 North Central Home Office Salesman of the Year.
