Born in Greeley County Nebraska. Preceded by parents; wife, Helen; brothers, Tom, Jack; sister, Claire O'Connell. Survived by sons, Pat (Luann Dugger), Bill; daughters, Ann (Brian) Kramer, Maureen (John) Fieberg; grandsons, Jon (Tara), Ben (Renee), Chris Kramer; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Justin) Chalen, Claire Fieber; step grandson, Brian Leary; great grandsons, Ryan, Oliver and Felix Kramer; great granddaughters, Savannah, Lucia, Julia Chalen, Kelsey Kramer; sister, Mary Lou Gilroy; sisters-in-law, Irma (Art) Reicks, Alcira Steenson; brother-in-law, Jerry Schulte; 71 nieces and nephews; many grandnieces and nephews. Jerry was a life-long Catholic baptized June 20, 1924 and ordained permanent Deacon October 24, 1982. He was a member of St. Leo the Great Parish and Knights of Columbus. Over the years Jerry and Helen were involved in Christian Family Movement, Cursillo, Marriage Encounter and Charismatic Renewal. Jerry was a pilot in the AAF in WWII, graduated a Mechanical Engineer from Marquette University and spent his working life in the Mechanical Contracting Industry as Project Engineer, Sales Manager and Purchasing Agent of J J Hanighen Co; Project Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Assistant Vice President of Natkin Co; retiring as Vice President and Chief Estimator of Mainelli Mechanical Contractors, Inc. After retirement, he devoted his life to Prison, Hospital and Church Ministries.

Burial Services at Beth El Cemetery followed by a celebration of his life at Temple Israel.

Smeerin, Norman Aug 26, 1922 - Mar 27, 2015 Age 92, of Glenview, IL formerly of Omaha, NE. Beloved husband of Shirlee Smeerin and the late Temette nee Wright. Cherished father of Jaynie (Bob Slutzky) Smeerin, Laurie Kabb and father-in-law of Loren Kabb. Loving and proud grandfather of Jonathan and Zachary Kabb. Devoted son of the late Ida and Rubin Smeerin; dear brother of the late Florence (the late Lloyd) Bank, and Sara (the late Hammond) Chaffetz. Caring brother-in-law of the late George (Carolyn) Wright and devoted son-in-law of the late Jay and Tillie Wright. Adored step-father of Nancy (the late Bill) Laytin and Catherine (David Erck) Davis and much loved "SG" of their children and grandchildren. He was a treasured uncle, relative and friend of many. Norman proudly served as an Air Force pilot of the B24 in WWII.

Age 74, born in McGrath, MN.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward, of 42 years; brothers, Ralph and John.

Survived by daughters, Cristi Thompson, Lisa (Kevin) Doyle; sons, Brian (Teena), Gary (Brenda), and Scott, all of Omaha; 11 grandchildren, Chris Thompson, Michelle (Brian Wilhite, Abbey Thompson (Tony Kaputska), Aubrey (Vincent) Hronek, Chelsie and Madison Krzyzanowski, Trevor and Ethan Krzyzanowski, Sophia Krzyzanowski, Ariel and Drew Doyle; 7 great grandchildren, Audriana, Landen, Kaeden, Karsen, Kolven, Ryan and Brianna; sister, June Mitchell, and sister in law, Gyla Lilledahl.

Bernice retired from Walgreens after 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, reading and was very active with the church. She most of all loved spending time with family and friends.
