Bill passed away on October 25, 2017. Bill was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 28, 1947. He graduated from West Side High School, and then served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, then attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Bill was married to Linda Bird on May 23, 1970; they were married 47 years. Bill is survived by his wife, Linda; 2 sons, Patrick Banker and fiancé, Valerie Schultz, Jeff Banker and his wife Lisa; 3 grandchildren, Jadon, Tanner and Hudson; 5 siblings, John Banker, Jerry and Janet Banker, Sue and Mike Dizona, Robert and Michelle Banker, Ruth and Frank Vilcinskas; many nieces and nephews.



Bill worked at a variety of positions in his life including a sheriff, many sales jobs and as a recruiter in the trucking industry. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, boating, water skiing and was a huge football fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his sons, grandchildren, family and friends. Much of that time including camping, hiking and coaching his sons' soccer teams.



Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Banker and Doris Jane (Childs) Banker.



Services:

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Life Gate Church, West Dodge Campus, Omaha, NE. The committal service will be held the same day prior the service at 10:00 a,m. at the Omaha National Cemetery.



Visitation:

Visitation will be held at John A. Gentlemen Pacific St. Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Memorials are directed to the family for a future designation.
