Daniel T. Haske

February 15, 1975 — July 7, 2022

Daniel Timothy Haske, age 47, died after a long battle with cancer on July 7, 2022. Dan was born on February 15, 1975, the seventh of Nancy and Tony Haske's eight children. Dan is survived by his wife Molly McDonald and his three children Louis (14), Michael (12) and Margo (10).

In addition to his parents, Dan is survived by siblings Tony Haske, Julie (Mark) Oberlies, John (Marlene) Haske, Nancy (Jim) Schoenecker, Lucy (Jason) Beiter, Perry (Jayne) Haske, and Jeanne Haske.

Dan is also survived by his in-laws, Kelly McDonald (Bill Jackson), Casey (Mike) Findley, Paddy McDonald, Terry (Teresa) McDonald, Kerry (Jim) Hughes, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dan is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Dorty and Packy McDonald.

Dan attended St. Pius X grade school, Creighton Prep, and St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He found one of his lifelong passions when he joined the Creighton Prep swim team, which would lead him to become a college swimmer, a competitive triathlete, and an outstanding swim coach and cross country coach at Duchesne Academy. His easy-going, personable and patient style was a good fit with his athletes and their successful teams.

Dan studied Biology at St. John’s. It was there on campus that Dan fell in love with nature. He loved to study the trees and take long runs and hikes through the woods.

Dan met Molly Marie McDonald, his “Mollster,” at Barrett’s Bar in 2001. Molly and Dan were married on October 7, 2005. It was the greatest day of Dan’s life.

One of Dan’s many positive qualities was his great sense of humor and fun. He loved a good joke and never took life too seriously.

More than anything, Dan enjoyed time with friends and family, especially his three children. They would enjoy working in their garden, going on long hikes and bike rides. Dan would often volunteer in the community. He was a man of faith, an involved parishioner and loved to find God in life's simple things.

Dan’s cross was heavy but he was courageous and no one ever knew him to complain.

Dan will be greatly missed as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and a friend.
