Delano "Del" Skaff

October 1, 1941 — May 7, 2017

Preceded in death by parents, George and Delia Skaff; nephew, Vince Skaff. Survived by wife, Bonnie Skaff; daughter, Andria (Paul) Niles; son, Eric (Lindsay) Skaff; grandchildren, Thomas, Sophia and Zoe Niles, Isabella and Gianna Skaff; brother, Duane (Wanda) Skaff; nieces and nephews.

Del was born in Sioux City Iowa. He graduated from Central high school (1960) and Morningside College (1964) and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was a captain in the United States Air Force (Hamilton AFB) and served in South Korea during the Vietnam war. After marrying Bonnie Vallerino (1970) in California, they moved to Omaha. He began working at Northwestern Bell and retired after 32 years (Quest). He was a member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, the Phoenician Club of Omaha, the Midwest Federation of American Syrian Lebanese clubs, American Legion, Tangier Shriners, Omaha Consistory/Scottish rite , the Masonic Blue Lodge, Northwestern Bell Retirees Association and he served on the Board of Directors of the west Omaha YMCA. He and Bonnie moved to Texas in 2015 to enjoy mild winters, and spend more time with their grandchildren (in TX & AZ). They enjoyed it - except one thing - there were too many Texas fans and not enough Huskers.

Monday (5-15-17) 10:30 AM at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, Omaha, Nebraska.



Visitation:

Sunday (5-14-17) 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a Memorial Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, Omaha, Nebraska.



Interment:

Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.

St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church or St. Jude Hospital.
