Donald L. Gardiner

June 6, 1946 — February 16, 2022

Donald Leroy Gardiner passed away on February 16th, in Omaha Nebraska at the age of 75.

He was born on June 6, 1946 to Glenn and Elsie (Gessman) Gardiner, in Avoca Iowa.

Don grew up in Avoca, where he graduated from AvoHa High School. There he created valuable friendships that lasted a lifetime, bonding over their love of cars, hunting, and a good game of snooker. From an early age, Don had a unique talent of connecting with individuals which later led to multiple business partners. He truly had a keen eye for business and development. It has been said by many that “Whatever Don touched turned to Gold.” Don continued his passion with connecting to people by giving back to the Elkhorn, NE community. In his more recent years, he developed multiple apartment buildings, donated money to assist in the improvements of Main Street, and added a public parking lot for the community. Don was one of the most generous people and always wanted to lend a helping hand.

Don loved his wife Mona and would often say “we are perfect for each other.” He was an amazing husband, father, and grandpa who loved his family with his whole heart. Don and Mona enjoyed winters together in Puerta Vallarta, spending time with many friends, and giving their grandchildren a place to spend spring breaks. In his spare time, Don would spend time on the golf course and in the “shop” admiring his cars.

Don is survived by his wife Mona Gardiner; children Tina Nocita, Horacio (Laura) Andrade; Kevin Jacobsen, Anna (Joel) Miller, Lindsey (Rory) Curtis; Grandchildren Kasey (Eric) Smith, Lynnsey (Joe) Hargens, Morgan (Cody) Birdwell, Mattie (Abe) Wolfe, Samantha (Corbin) Foster, Kobe Nocita, Ty Nocita, Cash, Harlow, and Colt Miller, and 7 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and his daughter Jodi Jacobsen.

A luncheon will follow the Service.
