Dulcie was a deeply and astoundingly beloved wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lopez and daughters, Selena, Marisa, and Tanya – and our beloved dog, Speedy (Bean); parents, Richard and Marie Sonnenfeld; birth mother, Fran Hoffman; brother, Derrick Sonnenfeld; sister, Amanda Respress; nieces and nephews, Raelyn, Eli, Chelsea and Connor. Dulcie grew up in Ravenna, Nebraska and attended Ravenna Public Schools in her childhood and moved to Omaha and attended College of Saint of Mary. Dulcie was a big Harry Potter fan and enjoyed reading the books to her girls and watching the movies. She spent her time with family as much as she could, she loved them deeply. During her final months, she went on trips with family; saw the sights of Hawaii with Robert, to New York with Tanya to see a Broadway show, ate donuts at Colorado’s Pike’s Peak with Selena, and swam with sea turtles in the Bahamas with Marisa. She loved watching her daughters perform and her husband succeed – she was proud of all they did. Dulcie’s diagnosis came Fall of 2020 and she fought with bravery and grace the entire way through. In the end, Dulcie was surrounded by family, those who loved her most, and she went peacefully in her sleep. We will continue to love and honor her and carry on with her in our hearts, every day.
