Gerald Seamon Gross

August 28, 1916 — November 5, 2017

Gerald Seamon Gross passed away peacefully and with the strength and dignity with which he lived his entire life on Sunday, November 5.

He was 101 and blessed with good health until shortly before his death.

A native Omahan, Jerry was born on August 28, 1916. He was the son of Mollie and Jacob Gross, and spent many of his formative years at J. A, Gross Grocery, his family’s store. A graduate of Central High School, Jerry then attended the University of Nebraska, and was a well-known businessman heading up both Osoff’s Hardware and later Regal Awards.

An avocational and all-around craftsman, Jerry charmed many of the waitstaffs in Omaha’s finest restaurants with rings he made out of dollar bills, maintaining his expertise in origami until well into his nineties.

In 1938, Jerry married the love of his life, the former Pearl Osoff and together they raised two children, traveled the world and made rich and lasting friendships. They were married for seventy two years, until Pearls death in 2011.

A beloved father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa, he is survived by his children Andrea (Irv) Green of Denver and Robert (Marjorie) Gross of Los Angeles, as well as eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
