Harlan "Doc" Gillespie

Harlan passed away peacefully on January 26, 2018. He served proudly in the

United States Navy during World War II. He worked for Northwestern Bell

Telephone Co., at various assignments in NE and for Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, N.J.

He is preceded in death by parents, Hazel and Alva Gillespie. Harlan is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 68 years: children, Cheryl Nelson (Craig), Sally Uhrich (John); grandchildren, John Uhrich, Whitney Nelson Smith (Kiley), Gina Uhrich (fiancé, John Baker) , Brad Nelson (Jessica), Christopher Nelson and three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Shadelynn and Aria.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to

St. Jude's Hospital for Children or the American Cancer Society. Interment will

be at The Omaha National Cemetery.
