Harry Jeoffrey Deeths
Age 84
Beloved husband, father and physician, died peacefully at home with his family on September 21, 2022. Dr. Harry Jeoffrey Deeths was born in Atchison, Kansas to Dr. Harry Jefferson and Marie Deeths on August 16, 1938. He lived there with his siblings Jennifer and Tony until about the age of 12 when his family moved to the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of L.A. where his father entered into a family general practice. He attended Catholic schools and went on to Loyola University in the L.A. area and later Creighton Medical School, following as did his dad. During this time, he met and married his wife, Lenore who was attending the College of St. Mary in Omaha. After a return to L.A. for internship and residency at L.A. County Hospital, Lisa was born at this time. He then entered into the USAF and served 4 years in Japan during the Vietnam War. Son, Matthew, arrived during that time. After a return to LA County, daughter, Maria, was born.
After much thought the family moved back to Omaha. Jeff loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing and eventually left his faculty position at Creighton St. Joseph Medical School and went into private urology practice with his dad's classmate Dr. Maurice Steinberg and eventually formed the practice of The Urology Center with several colleagues. Later he also founded the Quality Clinical Research Center still operating in the Regency area. He served also as the president of Metro Omaha Medical Society.
Being a lover of fine wine, he was active in the International Wind and Food Society board and became the chairman of the entire International Society and as such traveled the world with his wife.
After retiring from practice, he continued to be actively involved in the Medical Society and continued to travel internationally. He also loved interacting with his family and his 10 grandchildren who were the joy of his life.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 at 12:00PM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Private burial to follow at Omaha National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Baburek-Deeths Scholarship at the College of St. Mary, Omaha, Nebraska, 7000 Mercy Rd., 68106 smedina@csm.edu.
