Joann King

Joann (Zakaras) King was born December 21, 1948 to Joseph and Bernice (Dornacker) Zakaras in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in South Omaha with her brother, Ron. She attended St. Anthony's grade school and graduated in 1967 from Omaha South High school. Joann married Barry King on September. 15, 1972 in Yankton, SD. They were blessed with two children: Christopher and Rebecca. Joann had many hobbies including working with flower arrangements, traveling and quilting.

Joann passed away August 13, 2018 peacefully in her sleep at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernice. She is survived by her husband, Barry and children Christopher (Lisa) King of Newport News, VA and Rebecca (Michael) of Omaha, NE; 4 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.



MEMORIAL MASS Friday 11AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church 12210 S. 36th St Bellevue. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church.
