Joanne M. Glow

August 18, 1929 — November 29, 2021

Joanne Marie Dolan Glow, age 92, passed away on Monday, November 29. She was born in Omaha, NE on August 18, 1929, to Joseph Paul Dolan and Anna Marie Dolan. She was baptized at Holy Name Catholic Church and graduated from Holy Name elementary and high school. Joanne had two siblings; an older sister, Patricia Dolan Moore, and a younger brother, Paul Dolan.



She married the love of her life, Donald T. Glow, M.D., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on June 12, 1954, and was a devoted wife for 44 years until his death on April 16, 1999. Together they raised eight children and she was a beloved grandmother to thirty-three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with two more on the way.



Joanne was known for her sense of style, quick wit, and her devotion to her family. Joanne was at every dance recital, art show, play, and sporting event to support her children and grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader! Joanne enjoyed sewing and is remembered for all the homemade dresses and Halloween costumes. She began playing tennis once the youngest child started elementary school and played until she was in her early seventies. On Sunday night she would host dinners for her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, where she often was known to drink a margarita or two! She was an active volunteer at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha for many years rocking babies in the intensive care unit and truly lived her Catholic faith.



She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dr. Donald T Glow and grandson Joseph “Joey” Glow.



Children left to cherish her memory are: Kaye (Al) Hess, Diane Glow, Bob (Ann) Glow, Maureen (Steve) Fox, Tom (Lisa) Glow, Nancy (Joe) Leutzinger, Donna (Bob) Forbes and Rick (Kathy) Glow. Grandchildren: Kayla (Lee) Idom, Sarah Stormberg (Ben Estep), Kevin Stormberg, Kate (Garret) Schram, Michelle Glow, Alex Glow (Alex Nelson), Tim (Stephanie) Fox, Bill (Marena) Fox, Charlie Fox, Stephen Glow, Ryan Glow, Kristi (Austin) Smith, Todd Leutzinger, Kara Leutzinger, Bridget Leutzinger, Joan (Emmett) Nelson, Anna Forbes, Maggie Forbes, John Forbes, Patrick Forbes, Maria Forbes, Andrew Forbes, Peter Forbes, Ben Forbes, James Forbes, Tommy Forbes, Paul Forbes, Liam Forbes, Joey Glow (dec.), Jack Glow, Adam Glow, Colin Glow and Evan Glow. Great-grandchildren: Davis Idom, Gibson Idom, Dolan Idom, Bonnie Estep and Edward Fox.



The family requests those who wish to express sympathy, IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, to consider donating to The Joanne M. Dolan Glow Memorial Scholarship for students at Holy Name School. Donations can be made payable to the CUES Fund or go online to: www.cuesschools.org/donate/.



VISITATION: Begins Friday, Dec. 3rd at the Pacific Street Chapel at 5pm with a WAKE SERVICE at 7pm.



A MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, Dec. 4, at 10:30am at ST. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
