Survived by Fiancé, Kuy Budsabawan; sisters, Katie (Dennis) Bloom, Ann (Dean Winans) Mellen; brothers, Mike Mellen, Andy (Susan) Mellen; nieces and nephews, Kyle (Michelle) Fleming, Patrick (Jen) Fleming, Kelly and Katy Bloom, Annie and Allison Bloom, Jessica Mellen, Andrew Mellen, Michael Mellen, Megan Mellen, Joe Mellen, Luke Mellen, Patrick Ginn; Great nieces and great nephews. Joe spent 20 plus years in the Virgin Islands as a sailboat captain before retiring to Phuket Thailand.
