Joni T. Mccue

July 20, 1952 — July 8, 2019

Preceded in death by her parents, Frederick & Joyce Precht; brother, Dan Precht. Survived by her husband of 15 years, Jeff McCue; stepmother, Kathie Precht; 2 children, Greg (Katie) Precht and Sara (Oliver) Jones; 5 grandchildren, siblings, Mary (Robb) Busch, Barb Kirst and Cheri Bailey Ziegler; her extended family and many good friends.

Joni will be remembered by her family and many friends for her kind, generous heart, love of family, and adventurous spirit. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, always lending a hand and an ear when someone needed it. With those around her, she noticed the little things, and often anticipated what you wanted or needed before you did. She also deeply appreciated the support her family provided in return.

She frequently visited and enjoyed the peace and serenity at the Holy Family Shrine in Gretna. She loved visiting family. For many years Joni enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, especially in the Black Hills of South Dakota, when visiting Jeff’s family. She enjoyed camping and exploring the Lake of the Ozarks with Mary, Robb and family. Joni also loved her furry friends and rescued many homeless pets, to the point that Jeff often wondered if they would make room for him at home or if he would be sleeping in his man-cave.

Joni was a passionate fan of Huskers football and dark chocolate, with a side of ice cream. She was proud of her extensive gun collection and enjoyed time at the shooting range, as well as sharing her knowledge with other gun enthusiasts and her family, teaching them to safely enjoy the hobby. She also actively supported her husband’s interests, often feeding and lubricating Jeff and his buddies while they indulged in their hobbies.
