Larry D Rubenstein

September 19, 1945 — July 16, 2017

Larry Dean Rubenstein “Ruby”, 71, left his earthly home eagerly wanting to meet his Maker on July 16, 2017. Upon entering into eternal rest, he will also reunite with his daughter Melinda Danielle; parents Ray and Arlene Hons-Rubenstein; brother Rodney; foster parents Ray and Betsy Singley; as well as many other relatives and friends. Survived by wife Dolores (Bailey) Rubenstein; children Michael (Christy) Rubenstein and Michelle (Charles) McGrath; grandchildren: Sebastian, Alaina and Sophia Rubenstein, Damien and Heven Burkhardt and Kaitlyn, Cassandra and Xavier McGrath; brothers Terry and John Rubenstein of Berwick, PA; foster sister Ruth Shuman of NC.



Graduate of Bloomsburg High School (1963), Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology in Lancaster, PA (1966) and University of Nebraska (1984). Retired after 20 years with the US Air Force and another 20 as a Civil Servant for the USAF. He proudly served his country and was a true patriot, sharing his military pride with anyone he encountered. Larry enjoyed memberships and roles in various organizations including: American Legion Post 33 in Biloxi, MS (Post Commander), Bellevue Artist Association in Bellevue, Omaha Woodcarvers, VFW 2280, American Legion Post 0032, Knights of Columbus with St Mary’s in Bellevue and was most recently was crowned 2017 Mardis Gras King at Richmont Village. Larry and his bride would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov 25, 2017 – together forever in spirit and love.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to disburse to the Salvation Army and the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

Funeral Mass Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Bellevue, Nebraska



Visitation:

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 beginning at 5:00PM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel
