Leland "Lee" L. Shire

Lee passed peacefully from this life the morning of January 27, 2018. He was born Jan 5, 1937 in Thompson, MO, but has been in Bellevue, NE since 1964. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 38 years. Lee will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father and Papa.

Preceded in death by parents, John and Irma Shire; brother, Virgil “Verdell” Shire. Survived by wife, Sandy; children, Diana “Dee-Dee” Hawthorne, David (Merlee) Shire, Sr. and Brian (Heather) Shire; grandchildren: Kelly (Tanner) Gilbertsen, Paige Stone, Josh (Chauntee) Hawthorne, DJ, Christina, Ally, and Hudson Shire; great grandchildren: Austin, Jayke, Brecken and Grey.
