Louis George was born to Louis and Julia (Klein) Nantkes on the family farm in Butler Co., Nebraska on April 30th, 1924. He was the older brother of Marjorie (Nantkes) Siedhoff, and Patty (Nantkes) Zitek.

Louis grew up on the farm learning and doing all the things a farm boy does. He loved learning and going to school. Upon graduation of high school, Louis entered the Navy (1943‑1946). While stationed in Oklahoma City, OK, Louis met and married Theresa E. Ross, on November 13, 1946.

After the Navy, Louis operated the family hardware store in Ulysses, Nebraska with his parents. Louis and Theresa started Seward Propane, which grew into a variety of other business. The family moved to Seward. They owned and operated the family business until 1983.

Louis and Theresa loved the winter warmth of Mexico where they headed every year for 40 years. They entertained many friends and family in their homes in Mexico.
