Lynne C. Sledge

Lynne Sledge was born in Denver, CO to Lucile and Raymond Starkey on January 9, 1948. She was raised in Beatrice, NE where she graduated from Beatrice High School in 1966.

Lynne married Al Sledge on September 5, 1986 at Mt Vernon Gardens with family and friends by their side. Lynne and Al met at OPPD, where they both worked and retired from. Lynne and Al liked to travel, spending time with family and friends and taking care of their gardens and yard. Lynne and Al liked to take cruises, finding adventures in places they have never been. Whether they were taking family vacations or traveling to see family and friends, they always enjoyed every trip. Lynne devoted her time to her mother-in-law, Floris Sledge, by taking her to appointments, grocery shopping for Floris and just visiting her. Lynne and Floris are very close and spent a lot of time together. Lynne and Al have a dog named Mollie and Mollie will definitely miss Lynne

Lynne has two children, Chris Walker and Terri Hartley. Chris is married to Samantha and they have three children, Ryan, Addie and Gwen. Terri is married to Shawn, and they have two children, Tristan and Emma. Lynne loved her children and she treasured her grandchildren, enjoyed the roll of grandma.

Lynne was devoted to the Lord where she and Al are members of the congregation at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. They have many friends there and participate in several groups at the church.

Lynne loved to plant flowers and plants in her gardens. She would spend hours in the yard, working with Al, on their flower and vegetable gardens. Lynne has passed her love for gardening to her children and grandchildren.

Lynne passed peacefully, after a battle with heart disease, in the early morning hours of February 9, 2022. Lynne was deeply loved and will be forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Lynne's name has been set up with the American Heart Association.

Funeral Service Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:30AM at Pilgrim Lutheran Church 2311 Fairview Rd, Bellevue. Visitation Tuesday from 5:00-7:00PM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel. Interment: Omaha National Cemetery.
