Joellen was born in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame Indiana in 1950 in Commerce with Honors, Cum Laude, BA Commerce, Minor Biology. She worked as an Analyst for Mutual of Omaha, 1951-1984, after 33 years of service retired. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, a Mercy Visitor and served with the Council of Catholic Women. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Harvey Pence of King City, MO and Genevieve Fraher Pence of Liberty, MO.
