Raymond W. Ward

Raymond was born in Co. Bluffs, IA and spent his childhood on a farm near Beebeetown, IA. He was a 1961 graduate of Missouri Valley High School and later graduated from Dana College in 1966. Raymond spent most of his years working executive positions at various insurance companies including Mutual of Omaha as well as insurance firms in Kansas City, Detroit and in 1985 he settled in Miami, Florida where he was joined by his two sons to attend college. Ray married Sandy in 1991 and lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida until making the decision to relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2002. His love of history inspired him to take on a substitute teaching role for a few years and he enjoyed the interactions with the students. Ray was kind-hearted and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was always available to share his words of wisdom and advice. He will be greatly and forever missed by his family and friends.



Raymond was preceded in death by his father Robert Ward. He is survived by his mother Louise Ward in Omaha, wife Sandy of Henderson, NV, sons Brian (Aimee) Ward, Jeffrey (Lisa) Ward, sister Cathy Brothers, brother Duane (Diane) Ward, two grandsons Nathan, Max, three granddaughters Katie, Sammy and Olivia all of Omaha. Step-daughters Jennifer Nierenburg, Marnie Cherney (Chris), step-grandsons Kyle, Aaron and Aiden, all of Henderson,NV, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins
