Thomas G. Dineen

Survived by wife, Barbara Dineen; children, Thomas Dineen, Julie (Mike) Swartz, Peggy (James) Reall; grandchildren, Thomas and Margaret Dineen, Catharine “Cat”, Michael and Caroline Swartz, Patrick Reall; brothers, Daniel (Corinne) Dineen, Edward (Jane) Dineen, Richard (Eileen) Dineen; sisters, Beth (Mike) Engel, Colleen (Walt) Wellwood, Patricia (Dan) Reynolds, Mary (John) Jankowski, Rita (Phil) Nelsen; brothers in law, Phil Mummey, Mike Prendergast; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle Tom Dineen died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 15 at age 73. He was born in Sidney, NE, to Thomas and Peg Dineen and was the second oldest of 11 children. Tom graduated from Creighton Preparatory High School in 1967 and Creighton University in 1971. Tom dedicated his life to teaching and coaching, spending the majority of his career at Creighton Prep High School as a math teacher, freshman football coach, head wrestling coach, and athletic director. He made many significant contributions to Creighton Prep and touched the lives of many young men whom he taught and coached. As a man of deep faith, he was grateful for his Jesuit education, and the family will direct memorials in his honor to Creighton Prep High School and Duchesne Academy, two schools that were important to him. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 52 years, Barb, his children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
