Victor J. "Vic," Lechtenberg

December 22, 1925 — February 26, 2016

Age 90 of Omaha. He was born in Petersburg NE. He joined the Navy and served in World War II. After his service, he moved to Omaha where he met and married his wife Jane (Crouch) in 1947 and graduated from Creighton in 1949. He then began his affiliation with Anchor Construction Company where he worked for over 50 years and retired as president.



Vic is a past president of the Eastern Nebraska Heavy Contractors Association has Life Membership in the Water Pollution Control Federation. He traveled frequently for his work across Nebraska and Iowa and often carried peacock feathers and stickers as he visited with old friends and made new ones.



He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna Lechtenberg, his wife of 65 years T. Jane (Crouch), and his sister Ag Baumert. He is survived by his sister Rita Molletta, and his children: Rodney (Lorraine) Lechtenberg, Karen (Russell) Grove, Steve (Vicki) Lechtenberg, Suzanne O'Hearn, Kevin (Patti) Lechtenberg, Jean Taylor, Victoria (Michael) Grosso; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.



Visitation 4-6pm with a Rosary service at 6pm Sunday, February 28 at John A. Gentleman Pacific Street Chapel, 14151 Pacific Street. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Monday, February 29 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific Street with burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.



Memorials are suggested to VNA Hospice or Douglas County Health Center.



Services:

10:00 AM Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific Street followed by burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.



Visitation:

4:00 to 6:00 PM with a Rosary service at 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Pacific Street Chapel, 14151 Pacific Street.
