Zachary "Zach" Kendel Beck

September 30, 1992 — February 28, 2020

Zachary “Zach” Kendel Beck was born on September 30,1992 in Boulder, Colorado to Robyn Loveland and Jon Beck. Zach was an outstanding young man who passed from this world on February 28, 2020.

Zach was loved and respected by so many. He was inclusive, witty and had the incredible ability to bring out the best in those whose lives he touched. He was a provoker and challenger in intellectual conversations. He was driven, focused, and ambitious, exemplified by his recent completion of the Bar exam.

Zach was a devoted son, grandson, and older brother to his five siblings. His greatest honor was being a member of his large family and spending as much time as he could mentoring his beloved brothers and sisters.

Zach attended St. Cecilia’s Cathedral School and Creighton Prep. He graduated from Loyola University with a Political Science major in 2015 and then from Loyola University School of Law in 2019, where he was a Dean’s list honoree. During his last semester of law school, he was a Judicial Extern for the honorable Judge Sophia H. Hall of the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Chicago, IL. He was a law clerk for Kelly & Ignoffo, Chicago, IL from May of 2017-March of 2018, and a law clerk for Eccleston Law Offices, Chicago, IL from January 2016-July 2016.

Zach was an avid sports fan and loved watching many games with his friends. He was a true intellectual who spent his time reading, listening to music, writing, and reflecting. Zach and Flannery moved to Denver, Colorado in July 2019 where they were excited to start a new life, full of adventure.

Zach’s life ended much too soon. His work was not done but he will forever be remembered for his will and drive to be the very best he could be.

Zach is survived by his parents Robyn Loveland (Tad Steckler), Jon (Sabrina) Beck; Siblings Zoey and Abie Mihulka, Luke, Charles and William Beck; Grandparents Del and Sharon Beck, Judy Loveland (Don Snearline), Steve and Sheri Gilbert, Dorene Steckler, Ted and Diana Steckler; and partner Flannery Baltazar.

He is preceded in death by grandfather Kenneth Loveland.
