Audrey Morrison Kautz

February 20, 1931 — November 25, 2023

Audrey (Morrison) Kautz was born on February 20,1931 to Clarence and Evelyn (Seguin) Morrison in Duluth, MN.  She joined older brothers, Alexander Seguin (Babe)and Theodore and older sisters, Virginia June (Mae) and Lucille. Younger sister Rose joined the family the following year.  Her mother died when Audrey was 4 years old and her dad died when she was 12. They lived with her brother Babe for a while then she and her siblings went to live with an aunt , Aunt Angeline.  She attended school at St. Jean de Baptist in Duluth, MN. where she graduated from.
While in High School, she worked at the theater. It was there that she met Robert (Bob) Kautz whom she married on March 31, 1951. They welcomed son, Rick, on May 21, 1952.  Bob joined the Air Force and was later sent to Korea.  Audrey and Rick went to live with her brother, Babe and his wife, Leona and their boys, Al and Mike while Bob was in Korea.   Upon his return, they were stationed in Sault Ste, Marie, Michigan where daughter Pam joined them on Oct. 10,1954.
The family moved back to Duluth when Bob was discharged from the service and took an engineering job at Western Electric.  They were transferred to Omaha in 1958. She remained in Omaha until her death.
Audrey loved her Minnesota roots and travelled back quite frequently. It was the family vacation for many years.  The family loved visiting relatives and spending time at the lake.
As the kids got older, Audrey and Bob would travel with her siblings and their spouses to various destinations.   Trips to Minnesota were also continued. They loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.  Annual family reunions were a favorite of all.
Audrey loved to volunteer and did so through the years at  St James Orphanage, Girls Town, Bergan Mercy and Immanuel.  She also volunteered at St Pius X  while her children attended school there.  Bob joined her in volunteering upon his retirement.
Throughout the years, the family continued to grow with the addition of daughter in-law, Marti, granddaughter  Kori and husband, Colby Bidrowsky and great granddaughters, Emma and Joey, Grandson, Ben and Lisa Guida.
There were no titles she loved more than mother, Mawgaw and great grandma.
Her faith, family and friends were always the most important things in her life.
Christmas was her favorite holiday and she always went all out for it.  You could also count on her to decorate house and yard for all holidays as well.
Her husband, Bob preceded her in death in 1998.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and  sister-in-law, Nancy Gonzalez and many friends.
