Barbara Kay Shell

Barb is survived by her sister Carol (Jim) Bohnenkamp; brother Ron Wermes; sister in law Suzanne Wermes; brother in law Ken Larson; nieces Kristen Debban, Mandy Stubblefield, and Diana Musfeldt; nephews Adam Wermes, Tim Bohnenkamp, and Matthew Larson.

She is preceded in death by her parents Donald Wermes and Dorothy Wermes(Salmon); husband Dale Shell; significant other Gary Brolhorst; brother Paul (Butch) Wermes; sister Rita Larson; nephew Joel Bohnenkamp.

.Barb was born December 15th, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended the high school of the Sisters of St. Francis, Dubuque, Iowa for three years and graduated her senior year from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City in 1963.  She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Briar Cliff University. Barb shared her musical talent as accompanist for her church choir.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St Pius X Catholic Church with a visitation starting at 9:30AM. Burial will be at 3:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa.
