Carina E. Nelson

Carina Esguerra Nelson, 71, of Bellevue, Nebraska, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world after a long battle with cancer, at home, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, as she wished, on December 30, 2022, at 7:46 pm.

Carina was born in Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines to Fortunato Esguerra Sr. and Apolonia Manigote on December 28, 1951. After meeting her husband of 44 years in the Philippines, she spent her life traveling as a supportive Air Force wife and caring for her family. She loved to cook for family and friends, was the epitome of “Hardworking” and “stoic” and was the true matriarch of her family.

Carina is survived by her husband, Charles Nelson Sr. of Bellevue, NE: Her children Billy Wayne Johnson Jr of Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines; Sherry Nelson of Houston, TX; Jennifer Nelson of Bellevue, NE; Charles Nelson Jr. of Houston, TX: Her sister Teodora Mangao of Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines: Her 11 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother; Son, Ronaldo Chua of Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines; Her Siblings Concepcion Nicholas, Teresita Esguerra, Margarita Garcia, and Fortunato Esguerra Jr.

Visitation will be held at John A. Gentlemen Funeral Home, in Bellevue, Nebraska on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and Funeral Services   at 1:00 pm. 

Burial will follow at the Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
