Donald E. Petty

Omaha

 

Born May 13, 1940 in Red Oak, Iowa to Milo and Lois (Govig) Petty. He was raised on a farm near Elliott, Iowa.

After graduating from Elliott High School in 1958, he moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he met the love of his life, Connie Coenen, while he was working for Sutherland Lumber. They married on April 20, 1963 and to this union three sons were born, Michael, Kurt, and Jason.

His work took the family to Rockford, Illinois, Madison, Wisconsin and Kansas City before returning to Omaha in 1985.

After a small variety of jobs, he owned and operated his own company for the last 20 years, Omaha Gutter & Siding.

 He loved spending time with his 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, particularly their sporting events and any family gathering. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and watching sports. 

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie; son, Michael Petty; parents, Milo and Lois Petty.  Survived by his sons, Kurt (Melanie) Petty and Jason (Cheryl) Petty; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Becky) Petty; sister, Linda (Dan) Williams; his extended family and many good friends.

MASS of Christian Burial Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 10:30am, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with interment in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. 

VISITATION with the family begins Wednesday, December 6, 2023, after 5:00pm at the Pacific Street Chapel with a WAKE service at 7:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities of Omaha.
