Louise Marie (Harpst) Jackson of Platte City, MO, age 94, died December 1, 2023 at Hospice House in Omaha, NE, after moving there to live with her daughter and son-in-law.  Cremation is planned with a joint memorial service in the spring for Louise and her late husband, John C. Jackson, with inurnment at Graceland Cemetery in Weston, MO.  The family requests no flowers and suggests donations may be made to the Weston Historical Museum or the Platte County Historical and Genealogical Society.  Louise was born July 10, 1929 in Weston, in the home of her parents, Lewis and Eva M. (Stephens) Harpst and was a life-long resident of Platte County.  She was a graduate of Weston High School and was employed by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Corps of Engineers and U.S. Parole Commission prior to retirement in 1986.  Her memberships included the Christian Church of Platte City, Historical Societies of Platte and Clay Counties, and Den Mother of Girl Scouts.  She was intensely interested in genealogy and assembled detailed histories of her family from the time her great-grandfather John Harpst (Johann Herbst) immigrated from Germany in the mid-1800s.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years John C. Jackson, by brothers Jim and Delbert Harpst, and sisters Mary Kay (Fulk) and Donna (Baker).  Brother Kenneth survives.  She is also survived by her son Steve Jackson (Billie), grandson Stacen Jackson (April) and their children Ainsley and Stella, and granddaughter Bryann Jackson Bink (Joseph) and their children Jada and Carissa, and great-great-grandson Elijah Jackson; daughter Sheri Jackson Ball (Barry) and their children granddaughter Gena Ball, grandson Ethan Ball, and step-grandsons Brodie Ball and Skylar Ball.
