Michael Ronald Jones was the son of Leroy and Sharon Jones. Mike attended and graduated from Papillion-LaVista High School. Mike’s passion for cars led him to further his education at Metropolitan Community College with an Associate degree in Auto Body Technology. Mike was a hard worker and held a variety of jobs in the automotive industry. Mike spent his last 20 years working at State Farm.
Michael Ronald Jones met Tamara Lynn Stephens in the year 2000 through their interests in technology and had a network of mutual friends. The two married and celebrated their 20th year wedding anniversary on April 28, 2021. They had one son, Hayden Michael Jones on September 25, 2005.
Mike enjoyed spending time with family. Many of his interests were shared as family activities: boating on the Missouri River & Carter Lake, riding bicycles on the many trails in Omaha, loved going to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and looked forward to 1-2 week vacations every summer exploring new places across the United States. These activities allowed for good conversations as a family and made Mike happy.
Some of Mike’s other passions included an extensive collection of HO Scale Trains accumulated over the years, he was an all-around handyman and not afraid to teach himself skills to solve any home maintenance challenge. Mike drew inspiration and peace from listening to a broad variety of music genres.
Mike was instrumental in helping Hayden with planning his Eagle Scout Project. The goal was to build benches for Scatter Joy Acres. They picked out a design, Mike taught Hayden how to use the tools, identified locations for each bench on the property, the two prototyped the design and grew closer together throughout this multi week project.
Survived by his wife, Tammy Jones; son, Hayden Jones; parents, Leroy and Sharon Jones; siblings, Danny (Kelly) Jones, Kevin (Lareesa) Jones and Brian (Marcie) Jones; nieces, nephews; his extended family and many good friends.
