Mikayla Ann Floerchinger, age 27, was born November 13, 1994, in Alameda, CA. Her family re-located to Cape Elizabeth, ME in 1997 where her father was stationed in the military. They were then stationed in Omaha, NE where she attended Trumble Park elementary school until moving back to Maine in 2003. She continued her education in Maine and graduated from Lewiston High School in 2013. She attended Southern Maine Community College in South Portland for two years until she made the decision to move back to Nebraska.
Without knowing what she wanted to do she started in the food service industry where she impacted so many people, not only as a server but also as a mentor and friend to the people she worked with. She felt most comfortable as a server at Texas Roadhouse and was loved by all her regular customers. She continued to work at Texas Roadhouse for 6 years where she met her best friend and love of her life Dylan Zaraya. She and Dylan were happily engaged to be married.
Mikayla was a passionate person in all aspects of her life. She had a fiery love for many things, including sports. She even named her dog Brady after Tom Brady! Mikayla had the voice of an angel and a deep love for music. She dreamed of pursuing a career in music and even did theater in her high school years. But ultimately, she had the most love for her friends and family. Love that she carries with her beyond the grave.
Mikayla loved the little things in life. She enjoyed things that were lighthearted and would often spend her free time watching spongebob and the office - which she would often quote to her friends and family. She loved going to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and the Henry Doorly Zoo with Dylan, her fiancé. She was a foodie and loved trying new restaurants and cooking for her fiancé.
She was stubborn, fierce, passionate and kind. You don’t often get the chance to meet people that impact your life so greatly, Mikayla impacted so many lives and was loved by so many due to her caring and charming personality. We are grateful for the compassion and love she brought into our lives. It is safe to say that all of our lives are better for getting the chance to know her.
