Nancy was born the oldest of three children to Kenneth Ray “Bob” Daniels and Dorothy Lucille Crawford on March 11, 1938. She attended Brown Park School and Omaha South High. On January 7, 1956 she was united in marriage to Raymond James Ficenec at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. To this union 5 children were born. She has 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and her first great great grandchild on the way. As a lifelong resident of Omaha, she ran a daycare out of her home in South Omaha for many years called Little Miracles Daycare, she loved any and all children.
She was preceded in death by husband or 61 years, Ray in 2017, her daughter Kathy Middleton in 2005, and her grandson, Jonathan Astorga in 2015.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Ray Jr. “Butch” (Tessie) of Summerville, South Carolina, Mike (Kim), Dave, and Todd (Jenny) all of Omaha; sister, Sharyn (Hal) Sivertson of Omaha; brother, Terry (Donna) Daniels of Pacifica, California; many other relatives and friends, too many to mention because she never met a stranger. Her grandfather was Joseph Tesnohlidek of Joe Tess restaurant fame and she spent many hours there before it was sold after Joe’s passing in the 50’s. Nancy enjoyed traveling, watching movies, and loved inappropriate jokes. Most of all, spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
Nancy passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022 surrounded by family after a battle with dementia.
