Rodney was an Army Vietnam veteran and then made his career in the heavy construction industry.
Preceded in death by parents, Victor and Jane Lechtenberg; sister, Suzanne O’Hearn.
Survived by wife, Lorraine; children: Michelle (Michael) Howell, Tom (Danielle) Lechtenberg and Amy (Shawn) Watson; grandchildren: Jacob Lechtenberg, Diana Howell, Monica Watson and James Watson; siblings: Karen (Russ) Grove, Steve, Kevin (Patty), Jean Taylor and Tori (Michael) Grosso.
Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Oct. 10th at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 102 S. 9th St, Springfield, NE. Visitation Sunday 4:00-6:00PM with a Wake Service at 6:00PM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Pacific Street Chapel. Interment: Omaha National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Springfield Volunteer Fire Dept. or Wounded Warriors Family Support-Omaha wwfs.org.
